Plovdiv, the City

The city with 7 hills.
There were really 7 hills surrounded the city, but one hill was exploded to make paving for the city.
The old town is really lovely.
Roman ancient theater and Roman stadium serve performances now.
The main pedestrian street was full of shops and restaurants.
There are 3 famous statues in the city, the most famous one was Milyo the crazy.
The houses in the old city have its own characteristic that the upper floor is bigger than the ground floor, said as mitigation of paying tax.
Kapana or The Trap is the art district, with some cafes and galeries.
The fortress remain on top of one of the hill in the old town is nice place to see the city below.

Old Plovdid hostel where I stayes

Restaurant Dayana in Plovdiv, Bulgaria

It's a popular local restaurant and has 4 branches in Plovdiv.
I visited with Lam, free tour fellow, to the branch near the main pedestrian street.
Agreed with what mentioned in Lonely Planet, "Portions are fit to feed an army."
I could only half of the pork stew (Kavarma) bowl I ordered.
Cheap.
My order:
- Pork Kavarma, BGN 7.50
- Draught Beer, BGN 2.25
- Soup, BGN 2.70
Lam's order:
- Fried Cheese
- Soup of cheese and egg

Old Plovdiv Hostel, stay in a historical mansion

Booked at Booking.com for BGN 24 (EUR 12) for 5 bed dorm.
What I like:
- The hostel itself is an historical mansion, but the facility is great with renovated large bathroom/toilet, large bedroom and living room, and a large garden.
- Location is in the old city, near the fortress.
- Parking is free, just behind the hotel, just the way entering the old city was a bit complicated.
- Welcome board with guest's name in guest's language.
- Hostel price, with no bunk bed, a comfortable bed in a large room, with locker and power socket near each bed.
What I didn't like:
- The staff was lack of smile and a bit cold, but a kind enough.
